Another Weekend Down
The intention was to close the pool today. We're about a month late as it is, but that's for other reasons.
I started with some compost work. I had really let things go and needed to do some mixing and flipping.
Sure it looks all good and composted now, but I literally dug all the stuff out of one bin (right down to the dirt) and threw it on top of all the rotting fruits & veggies.
Then I moved onto taming the Wisteria. That's really gotten out of control this year.
But what about the pool?
Then I moved onto cutting the front yard. New tractor blades are nice! Too bad I couldn't do that before each time I cut the grass.
After the grass it was baths for both dogs. Lovely.
Finally time to close the pool. A quick test of the water revealed the chemicals weren't quite right for closing. The water was way too soft and I really didn't want to let it sit there for the next eight months with the water too soft. Problem with pool chemicals is you have to let them circulate 8 - 12 hours.
Which meant no closing today. So as to not completely abandon the process, I got things all ready to go for the closing. This involves putting all the pool furniture away and getting the blocks and boards out for the cover.
Funny thing about those boards - after four years I finally realized the spot that I thought was perfect for them in the summer months is probably the worst spot they could be in. They're tucked away between some fences and under some pine trees so you can't see them, but they're tucked away between some fences and under some pine trees is a spot that never dries! Not really a good place for wood that you'd like to keep around a while.
Oh well. I pulled them all out, cleaned them up and leaned them against the pool fence to dry and warp some more before I finally put them down on the cover sometime later this week.
If there was anything else I did, I don't remember and probably don't want to.
